We’re excited to announce that pre-orders on Amazon will begin for Snowblind: Book 3 in the Bloodline of Yule Trilogy on — no foolin’ — April 1, 2020.

This is the last of the trilogy that started with the award-winning Snowed, originally published by Raw Dog Screaming Press. Snowed went on to be critically acclaimed, achieving not only a 2016 Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a YA Novel, but also a 2017 Anthony Award nomination in the Best Children’s/YA Novel category. We’re incredibly proud to have been able to continue the saga.

“I plan on writing the prequel about Aidan’s parents. I feel the need for that more keenly than ever,” Alexander writes on her blog. “And by popular demand — because I listen to my fans! — part of this last book is from the POV of Michael Allured. In the religious practice of vodou, the Ghede (pronounced geh-day) represent the loa (pronounced loo-wah) who are spirits that represent death and fertility. For some death may be no laughing matter, but the Ghede are lively jokers and cigar smokers. There’s Baron Samedi, the biggest and the baddest, and his wife Maman Brigitte; Baron Kriminel, sort of a patron saint for those who want revenge against certain criminals; and Cimitière, the watchman of graveyards. This is by no means a complete list of the ghede.

But for us, Papa Ghede is the most important. Known for wearing a tall top hat and a pair of sunglasses missing a lens, he’s the guardian of young people, which makes him the perfect mascot for dark YA fiction.

The ghede are often associated with the colors purple, black, and white. So, we’re pretty fond of those colors, if you couldn’t tell.
